In order to meet the market”s growing demand for smart home systems and allow owners to manage devices in an efficient and sustainable way, ABB”s new R&D innovative solutions help end users make their entire homes “intelligent.”
One of the solutions will help customers manage their home devices in a more sustainable way. Prior to the official launch of this solution in October 2020, ABB will be exclusively demonstrating ABB-free@home® flex and its ABB-free@home® new app.
The new ABB-free@home® app controls ABB-free@home® flex, allowing users to manage blinds, lights and other functions via their phone’s Bluetooth connection. This would be ideal for homeowners looking to incorporate smart technology into one room and upgrade their home solutions in the future. Users can easily upgrade it to a complete ABB-free@home® smart home system in the future through the integrated system access point.
ABB-free@home® flex is designed to help people take control of their energy anytime, anywhere. Users can easily manage energy consumption on a handheld mobile device and freely control their home space, such as turning off the lights in the house when no one is in the room.
For more flexibility, users can use timers to set the lights to come on at specific times during the day or night, and can save scenes on the button, such as being able to move blinds to a preset position. It blocks the dazzling bright light in summer and saves energy.
For even more control, the app can also be connected to a motion sensor to adjust the lighting to different levels depending on the time of day, for example, reducing the lighting level to 30% when using the bathroom at night. This not only creates a more engaging user experience, but also further reduces energy waste.
To support new product launches, ABB has fully updated the ABB-free@home® application, bringing an application with complete functions, better performance and greater practicality. All existing ABB-free@home® users will be able to download the new and enhanced version from the App Store later this year.
