The SCALE-iFlex Single Gate Driver uses Power Integrations” SCALE-2™ ASIC technology, which significantly reduces component count compared to
traditional products. The ASIC also provides Advanced Active Clamping (AAC) overvoltage protection during normal operation, which is a vast improvement
over simple soft shutdown and adds additional protection in the event of a short circuit during turn-on. This product is treated with conformal paint to provide
reinforced insulation. Isolated enclosures ensure safe insulation between modules when
they are installed side by side. The devices are pre-certified to the rail standards IEC 61373 – Class 1B (shock and vibration), IEC 61000-4-x (EMC test)

The new gate driver has a rated peak output current of 20A per channel at an ambient temperature of 85°C without air cooling and a power rating of
1.5W MAG per channel (module adapted gate driver). Higher power levels can be achieved when air cooling is provided or at lower ambient temperatures.
In addition, both electrical and fiber optic interfaces are available.
